State of Florida Educator Misconduct Policy

All employees and administrators are obliged to report misconduct by instructional personnel and school administrators, which affects a student’s health, safety, or welfare. Examples of misconduct include obscene language, drug and alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors. Employees’ misconduct reports should be made to the appropriate administrator along with the Human Resources department reports of misconduct committed by administrators to Melanie Taplin, Regional Director of Spring Education Group. Legally sufficient allegations of misconduct by Florida-certified educators will be reported to the Office of Professional Practices Services. The school Employee Handbook posted policies and procedures for reporting misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators that affect a student’s health, safety, or welfare.
